And you right regarding many Republican led States outperforming... My problem is Trump as a person. All this name-calling, his narcisstic behaviour and worst of all I consider him responsible for all the hatred and division in the country. He is the only reason for me voting for Harris.
your are absolutely right even if his motivation is to avoid a backlash for the ev-industry in the US. Musk is not a fan of tariffs and he might have a moderating effect on Trumps dangerous plan.
-The American economy has left other rich countries in the dust- a quote from The Economist -- Trump said in 2020, a Biden win will crash the economy and the Stock market like never seen before --- look at what really happend. All his doomsday predictions are bad for this country and its people
Our economy is in much better shape than any of our major competitors from China, Japan to the EU. We have lower inflation, lower unemployment and much higher growth-rates. We operate in a globalized economy and that is an important factor we have to take into account.
Any President will need a Team of Advisors and Experts to be able to make the right decisions. Trump had his father to bail him out when he was in trouble, we havent got this luxury. The present adminstration has done a decent job under the circumstances they had to operate in after covid.
You are right, we have to keep certain capabilities, but putting tariffs on everything doesn´t do the job. Our trading partners will retaliate and at the very end the whole world is poorer than before. Maybe others more than us but especially people in the lower income bracket will suffer.
We buy goods from abroad because they can be produced significantly cheaper in countries like China. It is an illusion that those jobs could be brought back home with monthly minimum wages of around 300 USD in China.
If I may, how do you believe they are "letting them in?" I agree illegal emigration has skyrocketed under Biden, he's a horrible president--but it wouldn't make sense to try to rush in as many immigrants as possible before the next election while also pushing for border security initiatives.
Not true. Biden has actually done quite a lot to reduce immigration, he's not "letting them in." Just last summer, he introduced an executive order to crack down on unlawful asylum. Trump told the Republican House to block a bipartisan bill that would've made Biden look better. And yeah Harris sucks
Any other Republican candidate and this election wouldn't even be close. But, of course, they had to nominate Donald Trump for the third time in a row.
All things considered? I think Harris is the better candidate in November, as a swing state voter. Trump's irritable personality and attempts to overturn the 2020 election offput me. But Harris is not any better. That said, I understand why you're voting for Donald Trump.
Kamala's unrealized gains tax has been grossly misrepresented by the Republican media outlets. The tax only starts with people with a net worth of over $100,000,000, which really isn't that insane. I don't get the Musk comment, Kamala has many experienced businessmen siding with her too.
Honestly, I think that Trump's plan is equally bad. Most major, respected economists have stated that his fiscal policies would be a disaster for the economy. They will raise prices dramatically, and there is a frighteningly high chance of a trade war under a potential second Trump administration.
I believe that there was a Fox News poll that showed voters were split on who was better for the economy. This is a pretty good reflection of both candidates -- neither would make the economy better.
Rasmussen and Trafalgar have really shady methodology. Rasmussen has been exposed for being in cahoots with the Republican National Convention, skewing their polls toward them, and again, the Trafalgar group is highly sketchy. Trafalgar also bombed the 2022 midterms.
As a forecaster, 2016 isn't 2024. Methodology has seriously changed since then. It is very likely that, if Trump overperforms in the polls, it will be by a very slight margin, not nearly enough to ensure him an Electoral College victory.
I agree that the rhetoric being used by Democrats is deplorable, but Biden has a pretty good point. Trump will not accept the results of this election, and there is a very high chance of him fighting like never before to overturn it.
