Former President Donald Trump promised a "bright new day" for Jewish Americans during an event focused on fighting antisemitism in Washington, D.C., on Thursday. Speaking at the "Fighting Antisemitism in America" event, Trump vowed to be a defender and protector of the Jewish community if he returns to the White House.
"It will be a bright new day for the Jewish community in America. No longer will you have to walk the streets in fear," Trump said, expressing concern over rising antisemitism, particularly on college campuses. He emphasized his commitment to protecting Jewish students from threats and discrimination, while criticizing the Biden administration for its handling of antisemitic demonstrations.
Trump also called on Vice President Kamala Harris to disavow Hamas sympathizers and antisemitic rhetoric on campuses. He acknowledged the upcoming anniversary of the October 7 Hamas raid on Israel, which he described as the "worst attack on the Jewish people since the Holocaust."
