Four years ago we decorated 13 public Christmas trees with good wishes for Christmas and New Year in more than 30 languages in Messestadt Riem, a part of Munich. People from more than 120 nations live in this intercultural quarter. Furthermore, people from all over the world come to the trade fair center and the ICM (International Congress Center Munich)

There is online competition. However, many tourists come to Munich due to the big number of Christmas markets and those tourists also visit the shopping centers. Furthermore, they organize special events including live concerts etc. But many people from Munich prefer other places and Christmas markets than tourists. E. g. I never go to the Christmas market at Marienplatz. I prefer smaller Christmas markets and shopping centers which are not in the center of the city.

I am ready for Christmas! 🎄🐒 Our Christmas traditions: Drinking orange punch, eating Christmas cookies and listening Christmas songs while we decorate the tree. As soon as the tree is decorated we watch the old film „Drei Haselnüsse für Aschenbrödel“ (Tree wishes for Cinderella. 😀
