Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has arrived in the United States to present Ukraine's peace plan aimed at addressing the ongoing conflict with Russian forces. His itinerary includes discussions with President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, and former President Donald Trump. Zelenskyy will also participate in the annual meeting of the United Nations.
The peace proposal, known as a "victory plan," is scheduled to be presented to Biden on Thursday. The plan seeks support from Ukraine's allies in pursuit of a resolution to the conflict. During his visit, Zelenskyy made an unannounced stop at a Pennsylvania munitions factory that manufactures 155mm artillery shells, which are vital to Ukraine's military efforts.
Zelenskyy indicated that Biden would be the first foreign leader to review the complete plan, which will also be shared with other allied leaders. The proposals are expected to include measures to bolster Ukraine's military capabilities and clarify its role within the global security structure.
Additionally, Zelenskyy is advocating for the use of Western-supplied long-range weapons to strike military targets in Russia. Concurrently, the U.S. is preparing a new military aid package for Ukraine, anticipated to include patrol boats and additional ammunition.
