Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has confirmed that Ukraine has not received permission from the United States or the United Kingdom to use Western-supplied long-range missiles on Russian territory. In a statement to reporters, Zelenskyy emphasized, "Neither America nor the United Kingdom gave us permission to use these weapons on the territory of Russia, on any targets at any distance."
He further clarified that Ukraine has not deployed long-range weapons inside Russia, attributing the decision to concerns of escalating the conflict. Zelenskyy indicated that his Western allies might fear that such actions could lead to a broader escalation of hostilities.
Despite the restrictions, Zelenskyy noted an increase in military aid from Ukraine’s allies, saying, “Aid accelerated in September, and we can feel the difference.” He highlighted the importance of this support as Ukraine continues its defense efforts.
In addition to military aid, Zelenskyy commented on a peace plan proposed by China and Brazil earlier this year. He criticized the plan, stating that it lacked specific actions and stages, calling it too vague for effective implementation. "Generalizations always hide something," Zelenskyy remarked.
