Gov. Tim Walz (D-MN) sharpened his critique of Sen. J.D. Vance (R-OH) on Wednesday during a post-debate bus tour, a day after their civil vice presidential debate. Walz, who had initially struggled during the debate, took a more aggressive stance in Pennsylvania, accusing Vance of misleading voters about former President Donald Trump’s record.
Speaking at the York Exposition Center, Walz claimed that Vance's attempts to rewrite Trump's history were misleading, particularly regarding Trump's efforts to repeal Obamacare. Walz also acknowledged his own debate mistakes, including misspeaking about being in China during the 1989 Tiananmen Square protests, and clarifying his comment about "becoming friends with school shooters," which he later explained was meant to reference victims’ families.
Meanwhile, Vance, speaking in Michigan, criticized Walz’s gaffes, including the school shooter remark, and maintained his position on gun control. Both candidates have continued their campaigns following the debate, with Walz embarking on a bus tour across several states, featuring appearances by Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) and other prominent figures.
Walz’s tour will include events in key states like Arizona, Ohio, and California, as he aims to draw attention to his campaign following the debate.
