According to a New York Times-Siena College poll released Monday, former President Donald Trump holds a slight lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in three southern battleground states as the 2024 presidential race approaches. The poll results indicate that Trump is ahead in Arizona, Georgia, and North Carolina.
The poll, conducted from September 17 to 21 among 2,100 likely voters, shows that Trump leads Harris in Georgia by 49% to 45%. In the 2020 election, Trump narrowly lost Georgia to President Joe Biden by under 12,000 votes.
In Arizona, Trump has a 50% to 45% lead over Harris. This is a shift from previous polling that often showed Harris leading by a small margin. North Carolina, a state Trump won in 2020, now shows him ahead of Harris by a slim 49% to 47%.
These three states are considered critical to the outcome of the 2024 election, with both parties concentrating their efforts on securing votes in these key regions.
