Former President Donald Trump’s recent appearance on Fox News's Gutfeld! attracted nearly 5 million viewers, making it the most-watched program across all prime-time shows on the day it aired. According to Nielsen data, Trump’s appearance on the late-night talk show brought in 744,000 viewers in the key 25-54 age demographic.
During his interview with host Greg Gutfeld, Trump reflected on his performance in the September 10 debate against Vice President Kamala Harris, stating that he regretted not confronting ABC News moderators David Muir and Linsey Davis more aggressively. He noted that he aimed to be "elegant" but expressed that he might have handled it differently.
Trump also humorously commented on a past assassination attempt, recalling how a gunman nearly targeted him during a round of golf, joking that golf is “a very dangerous game.”
The viewership of Gutfeld! on Wednesday surpassed other prime-time shows, including the season premieres of CBS's Survivor, which had 4.7 million viewers, and ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette, which drew 2.8 million.
Trump’s appearance also helped Gutfeld! outperform its late-night competitors for the week, with the show averaging 3.2 million viewers. This placed it ahead of CBS’s The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live!, and NBC’s The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon.
