Former President Donald Trump continues to hold a slight lead over Vice President Kamala Harris in the latest national poll for the 2024 presidential race. According to Rasmussen Reports, Trump leads Harris by 2 points, with 48% of likely voters supporting Trump and 46% supporting Harris. These figures have remained consistent for three weeks, showing little change in the race dynamics.
The polling report noted that despite Harris’s recent public appearances and a significant spending advantage, her numbers have not improved significantly in national popularity. Additionally, Trump's current polling figures are higher than his results during the 2016 and 2020 elections.
The gender gap in voter preference has also narrowed. Trump leads by 7 points among male voters, while Harris holds a 3-point lead among female voters. These numbers represent a slight shift from the previous week's polling, which showed a 9-point lead for Trump among men and a 6-point lead for Harris among women.
Rasmussen pollster Mark Mitchell emphasized that Trump’s slight lead has been consistent for the past three weeks, but it remains unclear if either candidate will experience a significant breakthrough in the coming weeks.
