A recent Univision poll shows former President Donald Trump gaining significant support from Hispanic voters in key battleground states. Conducted by Opiniones Latinas from Sept. 17-22, the survey revealed Trump now has 39% support among Hispanic voters, up from 32% in 2020, while Vice President Kamala Harris has 55%, down from President Biden’s 65% in 2020.
The poll, which surveyed 2,200 likely Hispanic voters across seven battleground states, showed Trump making gains in all states except Michigan. In Nevada, he saw a 14-point swing, while in Arizona his support grew by 13%. Trump also gained 12% in Pennsylvania and 9% in Georgia.
Key issues for Hispanic voters include the economy and jobs (26%) and immigration (13%). Meanwhile, traditionally Democratic concerns like abortion (12%) and climate change (1%) ranked lower.
Despite Trump’s gains, GOP Senate candidates in these states lag behind him. In Arizona, 42% supported Trump, but only 35% backed the GOP Senate candidate. In Wisconsin, Trump polled at 38%, while the Senate candidate had 33%.
Harris holds a 55% approval rating among Hispanic voters, compared to Trump’s 43%. Favorability ratings show 58% view Harris positively, while Trump is at 41%.
