Former President Donald Trump and his family hosted 275 linemen from Florida Power & Light (FPL) at the Trump National Doral Miami Resort, providing them with accommodations free of charge as they prepared for Hurricane Milton.
Eric Trump, the executive vice president of the Trump Organization, announced the gesture on the social media platform X, expressing gratitude for the linemen's work in preparing for the storm’s aftermath. "Honored to have 275 incredible linemen from FPL as they get ready to respond to the aftermath of Hurricane #Milton!" Eric Trump wrote. He added, "You are amazing and the Trump family, and the entire state of Florida, appreciates you! Enjoy the rooms — they are the best in Florida! Be safe!"
Hurricane Milton, which made landfall as a Category 3 storm on Wednesday night, eventually weakened to a Category 1 as it moved inland. The FPL linemen were stationed at the resort to be in position to quickly address any power outages or storm damage.
