At least three people, including a 12-year-old boy, were killed in a Russian missile attack on the southern Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih, local authorities have confirmed. Serhiy Lysak, governor of the Dnipropetrovsk region, reported that another three people were injured in the strike. The attack also caused significant damage to homes, and rescue operations are ongoing as search efforts for survivors continue.
Kryvyi Rih, an industrial hub and the birthplace of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was one of several areas across Ukraine targeted in overnight airstrikes. Ukrainian air defenses reported intercepting five missiles and 11 drones out of a total of 25 strikes launched by Russian forces.
The escalation in missile attacks comes amid ongoing conflict in the region, with civilian casualties and infrastructure damage frequently reported.
