Senators Grassley and Johnson Probe FBI and DOJ Over Possible Media Leaks in Trump Investigations

Senators Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) and Ron Johnson (R-Wisconsin) have written to FBI Director Christopher Wray and Attorney General Merrick Garland, seeking clarification on alleged media leaks related to an FBI investigation into former President Donald Trump. The investigation reportedly focused on potential business dealings between Trump and Egypt but was closed due to insufficient evidence.

The senators questioned whether the same level of scrutiny was applied to an investigation into the Biden family's foreign business dealings. In their letter, they asked whether bank records and other relevant documents were pursued equally in both cases.

They also raised concerns that information was being withheld from Congress while potentially classified material was shared with the media. The letter requested a response from the FBI and DOJ by September 30.
