Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) has called on Vice President Kamala Harris to explain why she has not implemented her campaign promises during her time in office. This comes after former President Donald Trump raised similar points during a recent presidential debate hosted by ABC News. Trump questioned why Harris had not enacted her proposals while serving as vice president.
Rubio, who endorsed Trump in January, described Trump's closing remarks during the debate, stating that Harris, as vice president, holds a position of influence. He emphasized that voters might question why these campaign promises have not yet been fulfilled. Rubio commented on Fox News, saying, "Kamala Harris is as inside as you can get as vice president. Why haven’t you done these things already?"
The senator also criticized the debate moderators, David Muir and Linsey Davis, for their handling of fact-checking, and for focusing on Harris's background rather than her policy differences as vice president.
Polls following the debate show Harris leading Trump 52%-46% among likely voters. Trump has since stated that there will be no further debates between him and Harris, claiming victory in the recent debate.
