With just a month until the general election, recent polling data reveals that only 28% of Americans believe the country is on the right track, according to RealClearPolitics. CNN analyst Harry Enten noted that such a low percentage of positive sentiment is historically unprecedented for a party seeking to maintain control of the White House. He added that there is no prior example of the incumbent party winning another term under similar polling conditions, where 61% of voters believe the U.S. is headed in the wrong direction.

Harris, running her campaign separately from President Joe Biden, has focused on distancing herself from the most controversial aspects of Biden's record, including border policies. However, as the sitting vice president, she remains closely tied to the administration's achievements and challenges.

President Biden recently addressed questions about Harris's involvement in key issues such as the dockworkers strike, the Iran-Israel conflict, and Hurricane Helene. He emphasized their close collaboration, stating that they are "singing from the same song sheet" and that their staffs work together closely.
