Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Singapore on Wednesday for a two-day visit aimed at strengthening the India-Singapore strategic partnership. Invited by Singaporean Prime Minister Lawrence Wong, the visit will focus on key areas like advanced manufacturing, digitalization, and sustainable development.
Modi, accompanied by External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, will meet President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and receive an official welcome at Singapore's Parliament House. He will also hold discussions with Prime Minister Wong, Senior Minister Lee Hsien Loong, and Emeritus Senior Minister Goh Chok Tong.
The visit aims to enhance cooperation in the semiconductor sector, with both leaders visiting a semiconductor manufacturing facility. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) will be signed to improve manpower skilling in the sector, providing Indian youth with better skills and job opportunities.
