Oscar Piastri is an Australian racing driver, born on April 6, 2001, in Melbourne. He began karting in 2011, competing in national and international karting championships. In 2016, Piastri moved to Europe to further his racing career and started in single-seaters in 2017, competing in the Formula 4 UAE Championship, where he finished second in his debut season.

Piastri gained wider attention in 2019 after joining the Formula Renault Eurocup, driving for R-ace GP. He claimed the championship title in 2020, winning six races and showcasing consistency throughout the season. Following this success, Piastri joined Prema Racing in the FIA Formula 3 Championship for the 2020 season. He won the championship in his rookie season, with two victories and six podiums.
