A recent poll reveals a close contest between former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris in Nevada ahead of the 2024 presidential election. The American Greatness/TIPP poll of 736 likely Nevada voters, conducted from September 23-25, shows Harris leading with 49.2% compared to Trump's 47.9%, a difference within the poll's margin of error of 3.7%.
When third-party candidates Cornel West and Jill Stein are included in the poll, Harris' lead narrows slightly to 48.8% over Trump’s 48.1%.
Among Nevada voters, the economy and illegal immigration are top issues. Pollster Raghavan Mayur noted that Trump is viewed more favorably on these topics, particularly among independent voters. On economic growth, 48% trust Trump more compared to 44% for Harris. Trump also holds an advantage on reducing inflation, with 47% of voters expressing trust in him, while Harris is trusted by 43%.
On border security, 56% of respondents trust Trump more, while only 34% trust Harris. Harris, who was named "border czar" by President Joe Biden, has recently taken a tougher stance on border issues. However, a majority of Nevada voters, 57%, believe her position change is politically motivated, especially with regard to her support for partial border wall construction.
