Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu condemned Iran’s "axis of evil" following a terrorist attack at the West Bank-Jordan border crossing that left three Israelis dead. The attack occurred at the Allenby Bridge, where a gunman approached from the Jordanian side and opened fire on Israeli security forces before being killed in a shootout. Netanyahu described the attack as the latest act of violence driven by "murderous ideology," blaming Iran's influence in the region. The three victims were identified as Israeli civilians, all men in their 50s.

Jordanian authorities are investigating the incident, while Hamas, the militant group based in Gaza, praised the attack, drawing a link between the shooting and Israel's ongoing military actions in Gaza. This marks the first such attack along the West Bank-Jordan border crossing since Hamas launched a large-scale offensive in October, killing around 1,200 people and taking numerous hostages.

Netanyahu stressed the importance of Israeli unity in the face of these attacks, warning that Hamas seeks to divide the country internally. The Allenby Bridge, also known as the King Hussein Bridge, is typically used by Palestinians and international tourists, and the crossing has seen relatively few security incidents in the past. Following the attack, Israeli and Jordanian authorities announced the closure of all land crossings between the two countries.
