A Massachusetts couple has been indicted for allegedly voting illegally in New Hampshire during the 2020 and 2022 elections. Joshua Urovitch, 56, and Lisa Urovitch, 54, were charged with three felony counts each by a New Hampshire grand jury. The charges relate to their alleged voting in Concord during the 2020 and 2022 general elections, as well as the 2022 Concord school district election, despite living in Ashland, Massachusetts.
The New Hampshire attorney general announced the indictments on Thursday, stating that the Urovitches own a property in Concord but do not reside there. Joshua Urovitch is registered as an undeclared voter, while Lisa Urovitch, a registered Democrat, previously worked for Democratic congressmen. The couple did not provide comment when contacted by the Boston Globe.
The investigation into their alleged illegal voting stemmed from standard reports by the Secretary of State’s office to the attorney general. According to New Hampshire Secretary of State David Scanlan, it is not uncommon to see a few individuals prosecuted for voting-related offenses in each election cycle. He emphasized that while only a handful of cases arise, vigilance remains essential to maintain the integrity of elections.
