Ivanka Trump has joined relief efforts in North Carolina to assist residents affected by Hurricane Helene. Partnering with CityServe, Trump distributed hot meals provided by Planet Harvest and handed out Starlink units, donated by SpaceX, to help families stay connected to the internet in the aftermath of the storm.
Trump was seen in the city of Hickory, where she interacted with relief volunteers, local residents, and pilots delivering supplies. Her 10-year-old son, Joseph, also accompanied her during the visit.
North Carolina, along with Florida and Georgia, was heavily impacted by the hurricane. As of Thursday morning, 190 people were reported dead due to the storm. President Joe Biden had visited Raleigh a day earlier to survey the damage from the air and meet with emergency responders. The president announced plans to deploy 1,000 active-duty troops to aid in the recovery efforts.
Trump's involvement in the relief mission adds to ongoing efforts to assist affected communities in rebuilding after the widespread devastation caused by Hurricane Helene.
