Iran has unveiled its latest military advancements in a display of power during the country's annual army parade. Held every year since 1980, this year's event was particularly symbolic, reflecting the heightened tensions in the region due to Israel's ongoing war in Gaza.
Among the military hardware on display were Iran's latest drones and missiles, including the Shahed 136B drone and the Fattah hypersonic missile. The Shahed drone, an older version of which has reportedly been used by Russia in the war in Ukraine, represents a key element of Iran’s growing drone capabilities.
Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, used the occasion to deliver a message of defiance and unity. Addressing the crowds, he called for regional solidarity against Israel, stating, "If we are united, if we join hands, Israel the usurper will not be able to commit the crimes it's committing now in the region." Pezeshkian further emphasized Iran's military strength, declaring that no adversary would dare to invade Iranian territory.
The parade was a clear demonstration of Iran's determination to project its military might amidst ongoing regional conflicts.
