Hunter Biden has requested a delay in his sentencing for federal gun charges, currently set for November 13. His legal team cited a scheduling conflict with a civil case in California as the reason for the request. Attorney Abbe Lowell explained that the postponement would allow adequate time to prepare pre-sentencing materials and ensure lead counsel's participation in the hearing.
Biden was convicted on three federal gun charges in June, connected to the purchase of a firearm in 2018. His legal team requested the sentencing to be rescheduled for later in November or early December, excluding December 16, when Biden is due to be sentenced in a separate criminal case in California after pleading guilty to nine tax charges.
Lowell also indicated that some witnesses needed for the sentencing are unavailable until after the November election due to other commitments.
