Hezbollah accuses Israel of 'act of war' after attacks on devices

Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah has accused Israel of committing "an act of war" following two days of attacks involving the group's electronic devices. In a speech, Nasrallah described the incidents as a "major assault" on Lebanon’s security, calling them war crimes. The attacks, which included explosions of hand-held devices such as pagers and walkie-talkies, resulted in over 30 deaths and 3,000 injuries.

Israeli intelligence is believed to have sabotaged the devices by manufacturing them through shell companies, with explosives embedded in batteries. Following the incidents, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) launched airstrikes on Hezbollah targets in southern Lebanon, aiming to degrade the group's terrorist capabilities. The escalation comes amidst a larger conflict that has intensified following the Hamas attacks on Israel in October.

Israeli Defense Minister Yoav Gallant announced a new phase in the ongoing conflict, with Israel focusing resources on defending its northern region from potential Hezbollah threats.
