The Republican State Legislative Committee (RSLC) has launched a new ad campaign targeting Democratic lawmakers in key battleground states. The “Left’s Most Wanted” campaign will focus on eight Democratic lawmakers in Arizona, New Hampshire, and Wisconsin, highlighting their voting records on topics such as immigration, crime, and education.
The six-figure digital ad campaign is part of the GOP's larger effort to maintain control over 57 state legislative chambers nationwide ahead of the 2024 election. With narrow margins in several districts, Republicans are working to retain their majority while also looking to flip certain Democratic-held seats.
RSLC President Dee Duncan stated that the campaign aims to defend Republican majorities and challenge Democrats in competitive districts. In addition to maintaining their current hold, Republicans are seeking to secure supermajorities in some states, which would allow them to override vetoes from opposition governors.
Democratic groups have also announced plans to invest in flipping state legislative seats, with both parties focusing heavily on these battleground regions in the lead-up to the elections.
