A drone attack in Russia's southern Krasnodar region triggered evacuations and a large fire in the Tikhoretsky district, local authorities reported. Krasnodar Governor Veniamin Kondratyev stated that debris from the drone caused a fire, which spread to explosive objects in the area. Fortunately, no casualties have been reported.
One village in the Tikhoretsky district was evacuated due to the risk of explosions. The governor later confirmed that at least 1,200 residents were evacuated as a precaution.
Russia's Defense Ministry announced that air defense systems intercepted 101 Ukrainian drones overnight. Of these, 53 were shot down over the Bryansk region near Ukraine’s border, while 18 drones were intercepted in the Krasnodar region.
Additionally, Russia temporarily closed the M-9 highway near the town of Toropets in the Tver region to ensure traffic safety. This followed a drone strike on Wednesday, which hit an ammunition depot and caused a fire in Toropets, leading to a partial evacuation.
