Daniel Dubois secured a significant victory against Anthony Joshua in an IBF heavyweight boxing title bout on Saturday, September 21. Dubois knocked out two-time world champion Joshua in the fifth round at Wembley Stadium, which hosted a record post-war crowd of 96,000 spectators.
The fight began with a quick impact as Dubois sent Joshua to the canvas in the opening round. From that point, the bout was largely in Dubois's favor, with Joshua falling again in the third round and being supported by the ropes in the fourth before the match concluded with a knockout in the fifth.
This bout was particularly important as the IBF title had been vacated by Oleksandr Usyk just five weeks prior, following Usyk's achievement of becoming the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion in nearly 25 years.
Dubois's victory not only retains the IBF title but also positions him prominently within the heavyweight boxing division.
