Country star Garth Brooks faces rape and sexual assault allegations in new lawsuit

A lawsuit filed Thursday in California Superior Court accuses country music star Garth Brooks of rape and sexual assault. The plaintiff, referred to as Jane Roe, claims that Brooks repeatedly harassed and raped her in 2019 while she was working as his makeup artist. Roe has been doing makeup for Brooks' wife, Trisha Yearwood, since 1999.

In response to the allegations, Brooks has denied the accusations, issuing a statement saying he has faced "threats, lies, and tragic tales" and that demands were made for millions of dollars in exchange for silence. He described the experience as being "like having a loaded gun waved in my face."

The lawsuit alleges that Brooks offered Roe more work during a time of financial difficulty and then took advantage of her. The legal process is now underway to address the claims made by the plaintiff.
