A recent CBS News poll conducted in Georgia reveals insights into how registered voters view democracy under Vice President Kamala Harris and former President Donald Trump. The poll, taken after the presidential debate between Harris and Trump in September, indicates that 45% of Georgia voters believe a Harris presidency would weaken U.S. democracy, while 42% think her policies would strengthen it.
Conversely, the poll shows that 45% of voters believe that a second term for Trump would make democracy stronger. The survey, conducted from September 20 to 24, included 1,441 registered Georgia voters.
In terms of prosperity, 50% of those surveyed indicated that they view the Republican Party as the better option for ensuring continued economic success in the U.S.
Another key finding in the poll was that among likely voters, if the 2024 presidential election were held today, Trump would receive 51% of the vote, while Harris would garner 49%.
