Enea Bastianini secured victory at the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix, marking Ducati's 100th MotoGP win, following a final lap battle with Jorge Martin. Bastianini's win came after reigning champion Francesco Bagnaia crashed out while in third place, further extending Martin's lead in the championship standings.
The race took place at the Misano circuit, where Marc Marquez finished in third for Gresini Racing. With three Ducati bikes on the podium, the manufacturer also clinched the constructors’ championship with six rounds remaining in the season.
As the final lap began, Martin led the race, but Bastianini executed an aggressive overtake at turn four, pushing Martin aside to take the lead. “It’s incredible to win today here in Misano in front of my friends,” Bastianini remarked after his second victory of the season.
Martin’s second-place finish allowed him to extend his championship lead over Bagnaia to 24 points. Earlier in the race, Bagnaia initially struggled but managed to set race lap records before crashing on turn eight, resulting in his third retirement of the season.
Despite a strong start, Bagnaia could not maintain pace, allowing Bastianini and Martin to battle for the lead. Following the race, Martin acknowledged Bastianini’s maneuver, expressing his belief that he deserved the victory but accepting the outcome.
