Former President Barack Obama is set to campaign for Vice President Kamala Harris in several battleground states, starting with the Pittsburgh area next Thursday. According to a senior Harris campaign official, Obama’s appearances will continue through Election Day in key swing states.
This marks Obama’s latest public support for Harris after speaking at the Democratic National Convention in Chicago earlier this year. While his wife, former First Lady Michelle Obama, also addressed the convention, it is not confirmed if she will join him on the campaign trail.
Obama joins other prominent figures who have campaigned for Harris, including Oprah Winfrey and former GOP Rep. Liz Cheney. Actress Jennifer Garner is scheduled to campaign for Harris in Arizona, continuing the Democratic push to secure key votes in critical states.
An official announcement about Obama's campaign events is expected soon.
