Anthony Joshua is a British professional boxer, born on October 15, 1989, in Watford, England. He is known for his achievements in the heavyweight division and has held multiple world championships. Joshua started boxing at the age of 18 and quickly rose through the ranks, winning a gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics in the super-heavyweight category. His Olympic success catapulted him into the professional boxing world, where he made his debut in October 2013 with a first-round knockout victory.

Joshua gained widespread attention for his impressive knockout power and athleticism, winning his first 20 professional fights, all by knockout. In April 2016, he won his first world title, the IBF heavyweight championship, by defeating Charles Martin in the second round. Joshua successfully defended the IBF title multiple times, and in April 2017, he added the WBA (Super) and IBO heavyweight titles to his collection by defeating Wladimir Klitschko in a thrilling 11-round bout at Wembley Stadium. The fight was regarded as one of the best in recent heavyweight history and solidified Joshua’s status as a global boxing star.

In March 2018, Joshua won the WBO heavyweight title by defeating Joseph Parker, unifying the IBF, WBA, WBO, and IBO heavyweight belts. However, in June 2019, Joshua suffered his first professional loss to Andy Ruiz Jr. in a major upset at Madison Square Garden. Joshua regained his titles in a rematch with Ruiz six months later in Saudi Arabia, winning by unanimous decision.

Joshua’s fighting style is characterized by his powerful punching, athleticism, and technical skills. Throughout his career, he has fought against top contenders such as Dillian Whyte, Alexander Povetkin, and Kubrat Pulev. In September 2021, Joshua faced Oleksandr Usyk in a bout for the unified heavyweight titles but lost by unanimous decision. The rematch took place in August 2022, where Joshua was again defeated by Usyk.

Outside of the ring, Joshua is known for his philanthropy and business ventures. He has endorsed several major brands and is involved in community projects, particularly focusing on youth development and education.
