Formula One design legend Adrian Newey is set to join Aston Martin in March 2025, following his departure from Red Bull earlier this year after an illustrious 19-year career. The 65-year-old Briton’s move, highly anticipated within the F1 community, was confirmed by Aston Martin team owner Lawrence Stroll.
Widely regarded as the greatest technical mind in Formula One, Newey will take on the role of managing technical partner and become a shareholder in the British team. His goal is clear: to transform Aston Martin into world champions.
“I am thrilled to be joining Aston Martin,” Newey said at the team’s Silverstone headquarters. “I have been hugely inspired by Lawrence’s passion and commitment. I look forward to working with the team to achieve our shared goals.”
Newey’s move follows his departure from Red Bull, where he played a pivotal role in shaping the team's dominance in the sport. His experience and expertise will be crucial as Aston Martin looks to compete at the front of the grid with drivers Lance Stroll, 25, and veteran Fernando Alonso, 43.
With Newey's arrival, Aston Martin’s ambition to become a top team in F1 is more evident than ever, and fans are eager to see how the design genius will shape the team’s future.
