The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that 24 Palestinians were killed and 60 others injured in the last 24 hours due to ongoing Israeli airstrikes. Among the victims were a mother and her four children who died during an attack on Deir el-Balah. In addition, 10 more people were killed in two separate strikes on schools that had been converted into shelters.
In response to the violence, international leaders and press freedom organizations have expressed concern over Israel's decision to send heavily armed soldiers to close Al Jazeera’s office in the occupied West Bank.
Since the start of the conflict, the death toll in Gaza has reached 41,431, with 95,818 people injured. On the Israeli side, 1,139 people have died following the Hamas-led attacks on October 7, with more than 200 individuals taken captive.
